An update on the Youth Initiative. Meetings have been taking place regularly over recent weeks and the first meeting with the youngsters will take place on 15th July.
Rob Leveritt has agreed to run the sessions together with volunteer help and it will be aimed at 14-17 year olds in Clipston and surrounding villages.
Initially the youngsters will be planning and cooking a meal for the elderly in the Village Hall and, starting in September there will be weekly meetings in the Orbell Room to give the youngsters the opportunity to pursue community based projects which might include music, journalism, local democracy, visiting the lonely, assisting with Church and community projects etc. It will be down to the youngsters themselves what they want to do.
The Diocese supports this initiative and will provide training and the necessary safety checks to ensure that all is in order.
This is a really exciting project - watch out for further developments.
