It was the very model of an evening of entertainment

Last Saturday evening saw a new first for the Church. Organised by Julie Connell we had a presentation of Gilbert and Sullivan excerpts from the Wandering Minstrels. This group specialises in putting on excerpts from the Victorian duo in churches and despite they numbering only 5 people, they managed to give us a brilliant cross section of the many and varied G&S classics plus a few others.

The highlight for me was a brilliant and specially composed merely of tunes put together by their pianist but all the voices were spot on and a good time was had by all.

Special thanks are due to the many people who got together to organise the event in conjunction with Julie. Mick Higgins made the special staging which will be of use for future events. Roger Wallett coordinated the seating and drinks and many others were responsible for other aspects of the evening which together made it a night to remember.
